Initially created in Second Life in 2006 by filmmaker <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Douglas_Gayeton\" title=\"Douglas Gayeton\">Douglas Gayeton<\/a>, the machinima premiered on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/\">YouTube<\/a>, making it the first YouTube video to be purchased by a major television network<\/p>\n<p>Molotov Alva, the title character, is a resident of the suburban town of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Petaluma\">Petaluma<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/California\">California<\/a>, who one day falls out of his &quot;real&quot; existence in California into a virtual existance in Second Life.
